Projects: Shannon has strong on site construction management and overset experience on projects ranging in size from $70k to $65 million dollars.

Residential projects have included small addition/renovation projects to extremely custom and unique homes where clients have asked us to supervise, coordinate, and create finely crafted period details. Residential project styles have varied from fairly contemporary with modified post and beam construction to very traditional Maryland farmhouses. "We enjoy the challenge of placing ourselves into a vernacular and embellishing the details that particular style brings".

Commercial projects have included a class A 650,000 square foot office building designed by Kohn, Pedersen, Fox Architects of New York. Other projects include national judicial chambers, luxury condominiums on Baltimore’s inner harbor, small office/warehouse buildings, multiple dormitory buildings at George Mason University, restaurant/deli construction, and climate controlled rooms for rare historic artifacts and art storage.

Management: On site management on all projects providing budget development, review and analysis. Ensuring daily supervision of crews and contractors. Purchasing of materials, equipment and labor to accomplish project tasks. Contract negotiations, quality control, scheduling and coordination. Review of materials including evaluation and review for project compliance and warranty qualifications. Subcontractor/supplier shop drawing review. Complete project layout. Interaction with building officials, owners, designers, and users – the "Project team". Job activity/Daily logs to monitor production and scheduling goals.

Problem resolution – each project is unique in its own ways, although most materials have been used before, they have never been assembled to reflect the same end results. Therefore, coordination, insight, planning, and management accessibility are crucial to development of the desired end result.

Site work: Infrastructure including bridge work, storm water systems, steam distribution, sewer and water, road improvement programs, surveying, sheeting and shoring, and earthwork.

Concrete: Cast in place, pre-cast concrete panels, post tensioned slabs, decorative designs and finishes.

Stone/Masonry: Stone Veneer, Cultured man made stone, hand set granite in polished, honed, and flamed finishes. Marble, brick, and block construction including masonry bearing walls, cavity walls, and veneer walls.

Steel: Structural Steel building frames, Structural roof components, steel embedments, and miscellaneous metal works including stairs and railings. Ornamental iron and decorative works including railings, grilles, panels, and storefronts of brass, nickel, iron, and copper.

Wood Framing: Experienced with Wood I-joists, wood floor trusses, conventional lumber, truss systems, roof framing with conventional lumber, glue laminated beam framing, rough sawn timbers.

Woodworking: Millwork including furniture design and construction, interior trim details, arched wood ceilings, fireplace mantles and surrounds, wainscotings, custom cabinetry, and stair railings. Shannon enjoys working with wood and furniture design in his spare time.

Windows and Doors: Glass curtain wall systems, commercial entry and decorative storefronts, solid wood windows and doors, decorative glass inserts, garage and commercial overhead doors, skylights, and glass enclosures. Door and window hardware including electronic entry systems, security systems and keying hierarchies, fully mortised and partially mortised hardware, antique rimlocks, and multi-point locking systems.

Moisture Control and Roofing: De-watering and well point systems, sub-soil drainage systems, insulation, caulking and weeping systems, flashing details, copings, metal standing seam roofing, EPDM roofing, built-up roofing, wood shake roofs, asphalt shingles, fountain systems, and foundation waterproofing including rubber sheet goods, drainage mats, bentonite panels, tar based, and rubber-wall sprayed systems.

Finishes: Veneer plaster, drywall, faux painting and finishes, transparent finishes and stains in water, oil, and alcohol base, wallpaper, specialty ceiling tiles, ceramic tile, marble flooring in pre-finished and honed in place, stone flooring, and hardwood flooring in various widths.
